Emergency Equipment

It is important that all escape and access mechanisms provided for use in an emergency are clearly identified, and that operating instructions are clearly marked, including emergency equipment and opening mechanisms provided for occupants with disabilities.


The following equipment form an integral part of the means of escape:

• Emergency telephone and alarm activation
• First Aid equipment 
• Any special evacuation aids for disabled
• All panic hardware - door openings and access mechanisms
• Emergency stop switches for machines
• Life saving equipment - smoke hoods etc.
